About Sandra

I got tired of seeing women suffering.  Postpartum depression, birth trauma, lack of holistic support.  Reaching out for help can seem overwhelming and I want to provide a place where when a mama reaches out, she gets her needs met. I believe emotional and physical health are symbiotic and inseparable and deserve equal attention”

What I do…

I am privileged to be the witness to many women’s experience through the seasons of life.  I started out as a doula and prenatal yoga teacher and have evolved to a Women’s Health Yoga Instructor and Women’s Health Herbalist (still a student!)

I believe it’s important that women have safe, sister-supported, loving circles to receive the care they deserve.  My work involves regular weekly group classes, private Women’s Health Yoga Sessions and Women’s Herbal Wellness Consults.  I occasionally offer workshops or speaking events in the cities and am available for events at your location.

What I believe…
Mothers ar
e capable of amazing things. Women are capable of amazing things.

I believe that women in community with women is sacred.

I believe you are worthy of support.

I believe there are many paths to healing and many ways to birth and mother beautifully.

How I got here…

Hello! My name is Sandra Maurer.

sandra maurer yogaI’ve been where you are. I’ve struggled with hormonal wellness.  I’ve struggled with loving my body. I wanted the best for my pregnancy and birth; the most amazing environment I could create for the little soul growing inside of me. And like you, I felt that my options and resources were limited or out of reach.  Even though there was lots of information floating around on the internet, most of it is conflicting, confusing or overwhelming.  I wanted to feel ready!

I’ve been through miscarriage loss, pregnancy discomfort and fear, perinatal depression, twin pregnancy and un-medicated birth, so many ups and downs.  I’ve witnessed many births, grieved and celebrated with many mamas.

Like many of you, I spent many years hating my body, punishing it, running from it, ignoring it. It’s this very experience, and the healing journey to doing crazy things like loving my body, listening to it and living in it that has brought me here.

Over a period of about 12 years I pursued my passion for wellness by earning my BA in Art Therapy, training in Holistic Health Coaching, certifying as a birth doula and Yoga instructor.  At the same time, God led me on an amazing journey of healing physically, spiritually and emotionally.  I developed some amazing relationships with some inspiring women that I still have today and I learned to care for my body, mind and spirit, in a nourishing way.

I got tired of seeing women suffering.  Postpartum depression, birth trauma, lack of holistic support.  Reaching out for help can seem overwhelming and I want to provide a place where when a mama reaches out, she gets her needs met.

I invite you to read my story about how a drawing changed my labor, how the delivery of my daughter changed my life, or how my twin birth was such a humbling experience.

I am so grateful for the journey of healing that God has brought me through, and I want to help you on your empowering transformation as well.

I believe that honoring the individual life seasons we are in involves surrounding ourselves with sisterly support.  I believe there is wisdom in each stage of life and each woman has a unique path to walk.  I believe that wellness and wholeness of body is dependent on presence and wellness of mind and spirit.  I invite you to join me for a Women’s Health Yoga session, or a Women’s Herbal Wellness Consultation so we can together move forward on your healing journey.
